The National Gene Bank of the Agricultural Research Center (ARC) concluded, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, the activities of its training program entitled “Advanced Human and Animal Biotechnology Techniques and Their Applications.”
The training program was held under the patronage and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hisham El-Sheshtawy, Director of the National Gene Bank; Prof. Dr. Soliman Arab, Vice Director of the Bank for Extension and Training Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel-Gawad, Director of Training Programs. The program was organized as part of the Bank’s ongoing efforts to support youth business incubators and promote entrepreneurship in the field of biotechnology.
Program Details and Participating Universities
The program was conducted over a period of two weeks, comprising 50 hours of intensive practical training in the specialized laboratories of the National Gene Bank. It targeted biotechnology students from a number of Egyptian universities, including:
Cairo University
Nile University
Galala University
Badr University
Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST)
October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA)
The training focused on providing students with hands-on experience in the use of advanced biotechnology techniques and tools, while developing their practical skills and enabling them to apply these techniques professionally.

Closing Ceremony
During the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hisham El-Sheshtawy, Director of the National Gene Bank, congratulated the participating students on successfully completing the program and taking advantage of this valuable training opportunity. He also expressed his appreciation to the Bank’s team for their dedication, commitment, and continuous efforts throughout the training period.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates of completion to the participating students, as well as certificates of appreciation to the experts and trainers who contributed to the success of the program.
